Sunday, December 27, 2009

Tanah Lot is one of tourism-place you must visit when you come to Bali :) Tanah Lot is a beach which is located in Beraban Village in Tabanan Regency. Tanah Lot has very beautiful scenery when the sunset comes.

According to Balinese Myth, in 15th century, Dang Hyang Nirartha traveled along south coast and found this beautiful place. So he rested here, and some fishermen found him. Then he told the fishermen to build a temple to be a holy place to worship the Balinese Sea Gods.
In the caves of the rock, there many holly snake live. They are believed to protect the temple from the evil spirit. Some of the snakes are also poisonous. If you want to touch the holly snakes that live in the cave, you have to donate voluntarily for the development of the temple.
To reach the temple, we have to walk through a traditional Balinese markets. The markets sold some Balinese handicrafts. Some restaurants are also available on the way to reach the temple. There's also a place to take some photos with a big python or a bat.
By the way, don't forget to taste traditional Indonesian food called "klepon".  It's round-shaped, which often has green color and covered by grated coconut. It's delicious :D

So, when you visit Bali, don't forget to visit Tanah Lot and have an unforgetable moment here :)
