Tanah Lot is one of tourism-place you must visit when you come to Bali :) Tanah Lot is a beach which is located in Beraban Village in Tabanan Regency. Tanah Lot has very beautiful scenery when the sunset comes.

According to Balinese Myth, in 15th century, Dang Hyang Nirartha traveled along south coast and found this beautiful place. So he rested here, and some fishermen found him. Then he told the fishermen to build a temple to be a holy place to worship the Balinese Sea Gods.
In the caves of the rock, there many holly snake live. They are believed to protect the temple from the evil spirit. Some of the snakes are also poisonous. If you want to touch the holly snakes that live in the cave, you have to donate voluntarily for the development of the temple.
To reach the temple, we have to walk through a traditional Balinese markets. The markets sold some Balinese handicrafts. Some restaurants are also available on the way to reach the temple. There's also a place to take some photos with a big python or a bat.
By the way, don't forget to taste traditional Indonesian food called "klepon".  It's round-shaped, which often has green color and covered by grated coconut. It's delicious :D

So, when you visit Bali, don't forget to visit Tanah Lot and have an unforgetable moment here :)

Garuda Wisnu Kencana

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

Garuda Wisnu Kencana is one of some beautiful park in Bali which is located in Nusa Dua. Garuda Wisnu Kencana has very strategic location with only about 10 minutes drive from Ngurah Rai Airport :)

The pic of Wisnu Plaza

According to the information I got on my last visit, when all the separated statue of Wisnu and Garuda is perfectly attached, the height of the statue will be 150 meters with 64 meters wide of the wings. Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue has its own meaning which describes Lord Wisnu -one of Hindu's God that controls our universe- and the Garuda that's believed as the bird which leads us to Amerta. For now, all the statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana haven't attached and they're placed in different places. The Wisnu Statue's placed in the Plaza Wisnu. From this place, we can enjoy the great view of Kuta, Benoa, and Sanur. In this plaza, there's Parahyangan Somaka Giri, a holy spring continually spews out clear water through a stone bowl which many people believe it can cure illnesses or give you a long life. As for the Garuda Statue's placed in Plaza Garuda which is located just behind Plaza Wisnu.
On my school study tour, I visited Garuda Wisnu Kencana. And I had photographed some photos :D Check them out! Hehe :)
I hope this information will be useful. Thanks for the visit :)

As one of tourist destination, Bali must have souvenir shops. One of them is Joger :D If you've been to Bali and you didn’t visit this one, it means your holiday in Bali wasn’t perfect :D

Sorry, I don't have my own Joger Picture :( So I searched to Google, and I found this pic

At first, Joger just available in Kuta. But now, Joger is also available on the road to Bedugul. Joger, as the famous souvenir shop in Bali, sells many kinds of unique souvenirs. One of the biggest attraction of Joger is the unique T-shirt which contains funny and attractive quotes. No wonder if every holiday season comes, Joger always visited by the tourists who jostled for a variety of unique trinkets there :D
Incidentally, yesterday my family and I went to walk to Bedugul and passed Joger. Out of curiosity, I was visiting there. And when I entered the shop, I was surprised, there was many visitors came there to shop! In Joger, I bought some knick-knacks like a lion-shaped glass that look very funny. I also bought some shirts, one of them has black color with Joger-writing. For the price, it isn’t a problem. I think, the price offered there is quite cheap. Moreover, the souvenirs which are sold here is very unique, of course, the price doesn’t matter :D
So, are you interested to buy some of unique souvenirs from Joger? Don’t miss out on holiday to Bali without buying souvenirs in Joger :D

I hope this information will be useful for you :) Comments and suggestions are welcome: D
Btw, when I visited the Joger in Bedugul, I photographed a lotus in the pond in the Joger area. What do you think about the picture? Hehe :D

Rafting at Ayung River

On December 18th, 2009, my dad's friends from Mataram came to Bali for a vacation. They were on vacation for 3 days. During the holidays, they plan to visit some tourism-places in Bali :D When they dropped by my house, they invited me to come with them. Yea! So happy :D Our first destination is to Ubud. There, we would hold a rafting :D

Rafting Program that we use for rafting is Mega Rafting. Incidentally, my father was googling to find information about some rafting programs in Bali. And my father was interested to try Mega Rafting, because Mega Rafting has the longest track, which is 10 km.

The services offered was quite good. To get to the Mega Rafting, we were picked up using a mini-bus that can hold approximately 16 people. After arriving at Mega Rafting, we were greeted by very friendly. After confirmed the cost of rafting, we were welcome to wait to get ready. During the wait we could get a drink like tea or coffee which free of charge. Then we were welcome to use the rafting equipments, like helmets and buoy. Once ready, we headed to the Ayung River, which lies below the preparation-place. To get there, we had to down about 400 steps of the stair. Then, we prepared the boat, and got rafting :D During rafting, there are lots of very beautiful view! Our boat several times stucked on big rocks, but then get through. That was very exciting! As already known, the distance from start point to the finishing point is 10 km, and it takes approximately 2 hours.

This is my pic, the girl on the left-side is me :D

After we reached the finishing point, we were invited to clean the body then we can get a lunch from the restaurant which were there. Ater that, we can back up the stairs to return to the parking lot and go home.

This rafting experience is one of my experiences to enjoy the beauty of Bali. This is an unforgettable experience! Especially, this rafting was guided by professional guides who are experienced so there weren't any doubt :D

In addition, during the way to the parking lot, I also photographed some exciting objects! I think the result was quite good for a beginner photographer like me :D
want to see the results? Check this out! :D

That's all about my first destination on my December Holiday :D

Don't forget to gimme a comment :)
